AI Policy Analyst - Tooling

The Responsible AI Institute is seeking a motivated and experienced AI Policy Analyst – Tooling

This is a full-time, remote position within the United States with competitive salary and benefits. Reporting to the Director of Policy and Delivery, the ideal candidate will have a background the ideal candidate will have a background in (technology) policy, strong writing and (UX) design skills, experience in product development, and an interest in furthering responsible and trustworthy technology. 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will play an active role in developing and scaling the delivery of RAI Institute’s responsible AI guidance, including assessment reports and policy tools. 
  • You will work in project management and policy support capacities with technical staff to develop semi-automated and automated tools and platforms utilizing or operationalizing RAI Institute policy assets. 
  • You will guide the development and roll-out of RAI Institute’s certification program and lead the development of accompanying certification guidance. 
  • You will co-lead the development of RAI Institute policy assets, including those related to regulatory compliance, organizational and system maturity, procurement, and GenAI. 
  • You will produce written reports (e.g. white papers, academic papers, and blog posts) outlining RAI Institute products, industry developments, or relevant research on issues related to responsible AI. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, computer science, business, engineering, law, or a relevant field or equivalent practical experience. 
  • 1+ years of professional experience in policy analysis and delivery, preferably in areas related to the responsible use of AI, AI governance, AI standardization, AI risk assessment, or AI auditing. 
  • 1+ years of experience with developing AI and machine learning technologies preferred, in a professional or academic setting.
  • Proven experience in developing technology products focused on responsible AI, combined with expertise in UX design and the ability to integrate product and governance standard requirements into product development. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory frameworks related to AI development, procurement, deployment, and use across the US, EU, Canada, UK, and elsewhere. 
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and strong ability to conduct research and articulate concepts and strategies effectively. 
  • Collaborative mindset, working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at different levels.

The AI Policy Analyst role is integral to the RAI Institute Policy Team and an important team player in advancing the RAI Institute’s mission. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis using this form until June 21, 2024. 

Salary range: $70,000 – $80,000
