Manager, Growth & Development

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Manager, Growth and Development to join our dynamic team. As Manager, Growth and Development you will play a crucial role in driving our nonprofit's growth and sustainability by attracting new members who share our vision of responsible AI.

The Responsible AI Institute (RAI Institute) is a global and member-driven non-profit dedicated to enabling successful responsible AI efforts in organizations. The RAI Institute’s conformity assessments and certifications for AI systems support practitioners as they navigate the complex landscape of AI products. Through our global network of responsible AI experts, the RAI Institute offers valuable insights to practitioners, policymakers, and regulators to enable technologies that improve the social and economic well-being of society.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Manager, Growth and Development to join our dynamic team. As Manager, Growth and Development you will play a crucial role in driving our nonprofit's growth and sustainability by attracting new members who share our vision of responsible AI.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Member Outreach: Develop and execute a comprehensive member outreach and go-to-market strategy to identify and engage potential new members interested in responsible AI.

  • Sales Presentations: Create and deliver compelling  presentations that effectively communicate the value of membership in our organization, highlighting the benefits, initiatives, and impact of our offerings and tools. 

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective members, understanding their needs and concerns related to responsible AI, and providing appropriate solutions and support.

  • Membership Growth: Collaborate with the leadership and marketing team to set and achieve annual membership growth targets and to engage, retain and provide sustained value to our members.

  • Networking: Attend relevant industry events, conferences, and meetings to network with potential members and stay updated on industry trends and developments in responsible AI.

  • Member Onboarding: Assist new members with the onboarding process, ensuring they are well-informed about our organization's resources and opportunities. Work closely with the Member Engagement Manager to maintain strong relationships and continuity. 

  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of member interactions, contact information, membership status and other key reporting mechanisms using our CRM system (HubSpot).​

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field (preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or membership recruitment, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.

  • Knowledge of responsible AI principles and practices is a plus.

  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented.

  • Proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot) and Google Office Suite.

  • Passion for promoting ethical AI and responsible technology.
