The Responsible AI Institute (RAI Institute) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing trustworthy AI through standards-aligned certification, comprehensive resources, and a global community of practice. We work with enterprises, governments, and civil society to ensure AI is developed and deployed in a safe, fair, transparent, and accountable manner.

Our mission is to accelerate the development and deployment of trustworthy artificial intelligence systems. We provide organizations with practical frameworks, certification pathways, and community support to build AI governance programs aligned with international standards including ISO, NIST AI RMF, and the EU AI Act.

The RAI Institute welcomes organizations of all sizes across all industries, including Fortune 500 enterprises, government agencies, academic institutions, and technology companies. Our community includes leading organizations such as KPMG, IBM, PwC, Deloitte, Mastercard, and many others committed to responsible AI governance.

We offer three membership tiers designed for different organizational needs:

  • Standard Enterprise — Foundation-level access to RAI governance frameworks, community forums, and baseline organizational readiness assessments.
  • Large Enterprise — Mid-tier offering that includes TrustX verification for up to 2 priority AI agents, industry working group participation, and adoption support for established governance frameworks.
  • Strategic Partner — Premium tier providing portfolio-level TrustX verification across multiple agents, the ability to chair and sponsor industry working groups, and personalized market visibility.

RAISE Pathways is our structured certification program that helps organizations build, deploy, and maintain trustworthy AI systems aligned with global standards. The program offers four pathways: Foundation (for teams beginning their journey), Advanced (for mature AI programs), Domain-Specific (for regulated industries like healthcare and finance), and Executive (for organizational leaders).

The certification process follows five steps:

  1. Evaluate your AI maturity using RAI tools aligned with NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC standards.
  2. Implement the RAISE framework's five pillars of responsible AI.
  3. Complete training and demonstrate your commitment to responsible AI practices.
  4. Earn verified credentials displayed on the Responsible AI Registry.
  5. Join the community of 36,000+ practitioners advancing responsible AI worldwide.

TrustX is the RAI Institute's AI agent verification program. It provides independent, standards-aligned verification that an organization's AI agents meet responsible AI requirements. TrustX verification helps build trust with customers, regulators, and stakeholders by demonstrating that your AI systems adhere to recognized governance standards.

The Unified AI Code of Conduct provides industry-standard guidelines and ethical principles for responsible AI development, deployment, and governance. It is built around six core principles: Human-Centered design, Safety & Security, Fairness & Equity, Transparency, Accountability, and Privacy.

Yes.
