Verification Badges

Earn and display official RAI Institute verification credentials that demonstrate your organization's commitment to responsible AI governance.

RAI Verification Badges are official credentials awarded to organizations that successfully complete the RAISE Pathways certification program. These badges demonstrate that your organization meets the Responsible AI Institute's standards for trustworthy AI governance, aligned with frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC standards, and the EU AI Act.

To earn a Verification Badge, your organization must complete the RAISE Pathways certification process:

  1. Assess — Evaluate your AI maturity using RAI-aligned tools and frameworks.
  2. Implement — Apply the RAISE framework's five pillars of responsible AI across your organization.
  3. Train — Complete the required training and demonstrate your commitment to responsible AI practices.
  4. Verify — Undergo independent verification of your AI governance program.
  5. Certify — Earn your verified credentials and join the Responsible AI Registry.

RAISE Pathways offers four certification levels, each with its own verification badge:

  • Foundation — For teams beginning their responsible AI journey. Covers core principles, risk identification, and basic governance frameworks.
  • Advanced — For mature AI programs. Includes advanced risk management, bias mitigation, and transparency reporting.
  • Domain-Specific — Specialized certifications for regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, and the public sector.
  • Executive — Strategic certification for organizational leaders responsible for AI governance and enterprise-wide implementation.

Verified organizations are showcased on the Responsible AI Registry, a public directory of organizations that have demonstrated their commitment to trustworthy AI. You can also display your verification badge on:

  • Your organization's website and digital properties
  • Marketing materials and presentations
  • RFP responses and vendor assessments
  • Annual reports and ESG disclosures

Badge usage is subject to the RAI Institute's brand usage guidelines provided upon certification.

TrustX is the RAI Institute's AI agent verification program, available to members at the Large Enterprise and Strategic Partner tiers. While RAISE Pathways certifies your organization's governance program, TrustX provides independent, standards-aligned verification of individual AI agents and systems. TrustX-verified organizations receive additional credentials demonstrating that specific AI agents meet responsible AI requirements.

RAISE Pathways certification is valid for the period specified in your certification agreement. Organizations are expected to maintain their responsible AI practices throughout the certification period and may undergo periodic reviews. Certification can be renewed through a streamlined recertification process that evaluates continued compliance and any updates to applicable standards.

Yes. The RAI Institute reserves the right to revoke certification and associated verification badges if an organization no longer meets the applicable standards, fails to maintain required practices, or violates the terms of the certification agreement. Organizations will be notified and given an opportunity to remediate any issues before revocation.
