What does your job entail within your organization?
I have the fortune to lead our Data & AI Governance team which includes partnering with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain robust AI governance frameworks, fostering collaboration between technical, legal, ethical, and business units.
What do you think are the biggest challenges your organization faces related to integrating AI into your business?
Balancing the rapid growth of AI and Generative AI presents several significant challenges. These include effectively managing risks, ensuring the use of high-quality data for AI inputs and outputs, and providing comprehensive training to team members on Responsible AI principles. These principles encompass ethical considerations, bias elimination, and transparency in AI utilization.
Why must organizations prioritize responsible AI governance and systems in their business?
Responsible AI governance and systems are essential for organizations to mitigate risks, build trust, and ensure ethical and fair use of AI technologies, ultimately safeguarding their reputation and maximizing the positive impact of AI on their business and society. By prioritizing responsible AI, organizations can also comply with evolving regulations, attract top talent, and drive innovation while addressing societal challenges.
What’s a lesson you’ve learned that has shaped your work in responsible AI? Why is this work important to you?
One key lesson learned about responsible AI is the importance of integrating it into your existing Data & Governance framework. Ensure stakeholder alignment at all levels of the organization by leveraging available resources. Foster cross-functional team collaboration to identify and implement Responsible AI practices throughout your model operations, educational programs, and use cases. This demonstrates the effectiveness of incorporating Responsible AI throughout your lifecycle management process.
